Ayr Academy Learning Campus

March this year saw the Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s Languages, Dr Alasdair Allan, visit the site in the Craigie Estates to mark the start of the construction process of the brand new Ayr Academy Learning Campus. Incorporating sports and community facilities including sports pitches, a multi-use hall, two gyms and a dance studio the capacity of the new school will be for up to 1000 pupils and is set to open in August 2017.

The new school is set to be a colourful, modern replacement which will feature two unique “learning plazas”, open spaces that can be used to combine multiple classes to promote collaborative learning and discussions, offering new and exciting education experiences for the young people of Ayr. The pupils of Ayr Academy will be closely involved throughout the construction process of the new school, ensuring they play a massive part in the future of their own education whilst learning from the construction of this state of the art project.
