School Meals at Ayr Academy

Meals are provided in the Dining Hall in the lower floor in Ayr Academy where a Swipe card Cafeteria system operates. A range of dishes is provided and this always includes soup in season, hot main courses including a vegetarian alternative, salad and a choice of sweet courses. Portions of chips, baked potatoes, soft drinks, cold sweets, cakes and biscuits are also on sale. A two-course meal costs around £2.10. Meals are served from 1.10pm Monday – Wednesday and 12.20pm Thursday – Friday, pupils are supervised by members of staff who share the same facilities and menu as the pupils

Free School Meals

Children of parents receiving Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based) Child Tax Credit only (where income is less than £16105*) child tax credit and working tax credit (where income is less than £6420*), Universal Credit, Income related element of Employment and Support Allowance and support under part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, are entitled to a free midday meal. Special Requirements

Children who for medical reasons require special diets should inform their Guidance Teacher and the cook. For pupils who prefer to take a packed lunch to school, limited facilities are available at present.
